How to Reach:
The Los Flamencos National Reserve is located in the Tambillo sector which is near the Antofagasta region, which is again 27kms of San Pedro De Atacama. If you decide to visit this park you have to reach Antofagasta from Santiago through air or land transportation. From here on you have to reach Carmen Alto and then from there on to Calama all by land transportation. From there on you can reach San Pedro De Atacama.
Climate:
You can visit the Los Flamencos National Reserve anytime in the year. It is always open for the tourists. The climate of the Los Flamencos National Reserve is different in different parts. It is best not to visit the park during the rainy season which is from December to March. During this time severe storms take place.
Tourist Attraction:
There are various tourist attractions in the Los Flamencos National Reserve which are also visited by a large number of tourists once they visit the park. Some of the important tourist attractions here include Atacama Salt Deposit, San Pedro De Atacama, Moon Valley, Salt Mountain Chain and a lot more. You can find a rich collection of fauna here which includes flamingos, ducks, juarjuar, nunduts, eaglets, tucuquers, the gray, South American red fox and others. Near the Atacama Salt Deposit there are three lagoons and they are Puilar, Chaxas as well as Barros Negros.
Activities:
There are various activities in which you can take part when you decide to visit the Los Flamencos National Reserve. Some of the important activities here include trekking, photography, and observing the wild life. There are various services which are also offered by the park which includes trails or paths for walking. Here you can have a brisk walk and spend your time. Other than this, the park also provides a large number of information on the environment of the place.
Entrance Fee:
The entrance fee for the adults in Los Flamencos National Reserve is $2500 Chilean Pesos and for the children it is $500 Chilean Pesos.
