Cueva del Milodon National Monument |
|
| The Cave of Milodon or the Cueva del Milodon National Monument is positioned on the side of the Benítez hill. The Cave of Milodon or rather the Cueva del Milodon Natural Monument is an imposing structure of 30m (98 ft) high. The cave houses the encased model of an imaginative animal in fiberglass, which existed only in myths. As of 1896, the first signs of the existence of the Milodon surfaced. It was when Hermann Eberhard is believed to have found properly preserved shreds of skin and excreta of an ethical animal, giving the suggestion that such an ethical animal did exist at some point of time. This animal specimen is thought to have been twice as large as that of a man. It was also found that it was a mammal as well as an herbivore.
